Synergy works with the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) staff to evaluate existing website design and create wireframes to tailor navigation and display content. Our IT specialists played an integral part in helping the NIDDK strategize its migration planning activities and organize metadata lists for content migration. Synergy also contributed to a final business requirements document for use by the technical migration contractor in meeting federal requirements for website content and management.
We support the organization and management of document inventories and the creation of templates, lists, and libraries within NIDDK’s collaborative workspace and content management system. We revised, edited, and formatted content from more than 1,200 individual web pages into work a flow structure that we developed. Synergy staff received clearance to work inside the secure environment of the NIDDK SharePoint production server to ensure that final content met all style and editorial specifications prior to the Phase One launch of the new NIDDK site. Our IT and web design staff developed a complex, multimedia content management and assigner/assignee workflow structure. We facilitated the management of multiple, complex deliverables, including libraries of staff biographies, laboratory research project descriptions, multimedia content, and funding mechanisms.
Synergy designers provide continuing design of the NIDDK public-facing Web pages. This process involves developing wireframe and user interface designs and testing and refining them so that site visitors can navigate smoothly and efficiently. Synergy’s web design team has worked with NIDDK staff and contractors to produce 90 annotated wireframes. They play a critical role in the development, user testing, and refinement of the information architecture and user interface of the site. We provide design of all page template layouts and icons and other design features used throughout the site. We process more than 200 staff portraits; establish and document all style, layout, and graphic standards for the site; and provide stub HTML for the main site.
